The association Apple Flower Festival
The association AppleFlower Festival, organises an annual celebration of the blossoming of the apple trees in the Danish south sea region. A festival where the beautiful sight of blossoming fruit trees act as backdrop for a celebration that spans a day and a half and where people of all ages enjoy good food, good music and being with together
The first Apple Flower Festival took place in 2012, with 100 volunteers and 300 festival participants – 200 adults and 100 children. In 2013, the number of participants where 300 adults and 150 children. In 2014, ticket sales were set to 285 adults and 145 children. The number of volunteers has increased slightly over the years, because there are more activities at the festival.
The association invites selected Danish and foreign musicians to Lilleø where they perform to the festival guests on the scenes by the sea and between the flowering apple trees, while chefs and other culinary partners stand for the lovely meals eaten at long tables and picnic blankets in the orchard.
Apple Flower Festival is made possible thanks to a small number of sponsors and a large number of volunteers who each year help transform Lilleø from a place populated by about 10 residents to a crowd totalling about 600 festival participants of all ages.

We wish to create a festival that grows in content, quality and beauty year after year, but not in volume
We wish to explore how to establish an interaction between the audience, volunteers and performers that is so rewarding that you want to contribute, not because you’ll get paid but because you really want to be part of the experience.
We wish to explore the forces of interaction between food, music and people, and contribute to the experience becoming the greatest possible catalyst of happiness for the greatest number of people
The founders of the association
The initiators of the festival are the entrepreneurs Kenneth Bager and Claus Meyer who comes from, respectively music and the world of gastronomy. Apple Flower Festival is their first joint project. Apple Flower Festival is held in agreement and in cooperation with the island’s residents.
